Services
Psychotherapy services aim to explore and validate developmental experiences, to identify how they are impacting your current struggles, and to foster discovery of your authentic self or parts of self that have been inhibited, or have hijacked your nervous system. I work with people from a variety of backgrounds dealing with relationship problems, management and organizational issues, risk taking behavior in personal, work and financial spheres, career difficulties and transitions, as well as struggles with depression, anxiety, difficulty asserting oneself, aggression within relationships, symptoms related to PTSD or complex trauma, sequelae of physical, verbal, and sexual abuse and neglect.
Individual Psychotherapy
Whether online or in-person, individual psychotherapy aims to develop a respectful and safe relationship based on empathy for your unique life circumstances and need for recognition of your triumphs as well as your struggles and emotional and/or physical pain. Sessions aim to provide a relationship that you could rely on as a resource, as well as encouraging insight into your experience and learning new behavioral skills. The therapeutic relationship provides you with a base from which you can take risks and release your natural energy that is at times either constricted or unfocused.
Couples Psychotherapy
Whether it is a desire to rekindle connection, to manage routine and painful arguments, or to resolve conflicts of larger scale, including divergence of interests, sexual incompatibilities, dead-bedroom, infidelity, or structure of your relationship, Couples Therapy provides a safe space and container to learn to communicate about difficult topics. Focus is on attachment styles, emotions, expressions of love, and learning new ways of managing old patterns. Love is an action as well as a feeling, and sometimes those diverge seemingly irreparably, and may require persistence to return to acting with love as you originally intended.
Group Psychotherapy
Interpersonal Process Groups: These group are open-ended format, with the aim of exploring habitual feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in relation to others.
At times groups will be formed with a predetermined duration such as 8-10 sessions to address specific issues.
